Acitivity

- Making Shinshu saws was introduced as a farmer's winter work in the Edo period and has been a traditional skill that has developed for many years in Chino.
(Visit the workshop of a master saw maker who has been working in this field for 55 years and is recognized as a master artisan in Shinshu, and experience learning how to make a saw.)

9:00 Meet at Morozumi Nokogiri Kojo (Morozumi Nokogiri Workshop)(Learn about the history of the Shinshu saw and its connection to Suwa Shrine. )
STEP2
9:30 Head to the workshop and observe how saws are made(Learn about the history and manufacturing process of Shinshu saws, a tradition that has continued for 200 years (observation of grinding, sharpening, setting, etc.) )
STEP3
10:00 Experience the sharpening of the blade under the guidance of an artisan.(Experience time: about 5 minutes per person)

10:40 Experience the sharpness of the saw and learn how to use it
