Activity

The first sightseeing tour to witness the Kitsugansai Festival, a traditional ritual unique to the Yaeyama Islands of Okinawa

Following the priest's prayer at the sacred site where the divine is believed to dwell (restricted to clergy only), local residents gather to observe traditional performances dating back about 500 years, including Bojutsu (martial art using a staff called bō), taiko drumming, and lion dance.

Embark on a journey to discover the legacy of the living legend, Nakama Mitsukeima

Uncover the legacy of Mitsukeima, a revered 15th-century hero credited with creating the Bojutsu technique of the Kitsugansai Festival. Take a trip to Shuen no Chi (place of demise) and visit his grave nestled among the cliffs, where you can also perform the folk song "Bashi-nu-Turi Bushi," created by his descendants from the 17th century.

Available for one day only to coincide with the annual Kitsugansai Festival

This bus tour is limited to September 15, 2024 (Sun.)

A local expert guide (Japanese) and an interpreter guide (English) will accompany you

The schedule of this event was very tight and no time was wasted at all. Especially at the end, I listened to parent-child farewell songs and local folk songs with the descendants of Nakama Manqingshan Hideki, danced and had fun together, which was the biggest highlight. Of course, watching the wedding ceremony It's also very impressive
