Activity

Transform yourself into a maiko with Japanese makeup, a gorgeous kimono, and beautiful hair ornaments.

No special preparation is required. This maiko arrangement is a Kyoto-only experience, and the staff will photograph your beautiful Maiko figure in the inner garden of a Kyoto townhouse.

Maiko experience at an authentic Gion teahouse built in the Taisho era (1912-1926).

Photographers who specialize in capturing the beauty of Maiko is in charge of the photography.

Please leave everything to the staff. The service comes with three 2L photographs.

Schedule

  • Reception

    Please present the My Page reservation screen at the reception.

  • Transform into a maiko

    The transformation into a maiko begins. After changing into the hadajuban (kimono underwear), the staff will prepare your hair and makeup.
    After that, you will be dressed in a gorgeous kimono suited to your tastes. You can choose one of the many gorgeous hair ornaments and hair pin to complete your transformation.

  • Photography in the inner garden.

    A photographer who specializes in maiko photography will teach you popular maiko pose and, take professional photos of you in the inner garden, reserved for one group at a time. You will also be able to use your own smartphone or camera to take photos for 10 minutes while you are in the inner garden or in front of the store.

  • Removal of the maiko clothing and accessories, receive your photos.

    Take off the kimono and wig, remove the makeup, and return to your original self. When you are done, take your finished photography album home.

【Train】
1. Take exit 7 from Gion Shijo Station on the Keihan Main Line and proceed along Shijo Dori towards Yasaka Shrine.
2. At the intersection in front of Yasaka Shrine, cross to the Gion police box and cross the pedestrian in front of Tsuruha Drugstore towards Yasaka Shrine.
3. Turn right in front of Yasaka Shrine and proceed for 100 meters. Turn left at the Hotel Sunline and proceed another 100 meters.
4. Turn right in front of Cafe Jouvencelle and proceed for about 35 meters. Turn left on the road between the Japanese confectionery store and Ryotei Hamasaku.
