The JR TOKYO Wide Pass and the JR EAST Welcome Rail Pass 2020 are both the same in that they offer unlimited rides for 3 days on conventional lines and the Shinkansen trains in the Kanto region. The difference between the two is the price and the range you can travel. The JR TOKYO Wide Pass and the JR EAST Welcome Rail Pass 2020 are both good value for 3 days or less in the Kanto area, while the JR EAST Welcome Rail Pass 2020 is better for trips beyond the Kanto region to the Tohoku and Shinetsu regions.

Q. Do I need a visa at the time of purchase or collection? A. No, you don't need a visa.
Q. Can I change the start date after purchase? A. The start date can only be changed once, and only for passes within its validity period that have not yet been used. The start date can be changed to any date up to one month after the start date printed on the pass. However, the date cannot be changed via the WAmazing website. If you wish to change the start date of your rail pass, please go to the JR East counter and inquire about the JR EAST Welcome Rail Pass 2020.
Q. Does the pass include a reserved seat on the Shinkansen? A. A reserved seat is not included in the pass. If you wish to book a reserved seat, present your JR EAST Welcome Rail Pass 2020 at a designated JR East counter, such as the JR EAST Travel Service Center, to receive a reserved seat ticket. Please note that a reserved seat ticket cannot be received from a ticket machine with a pass purchased via WAmazing.
