Features of Atami Onsen

Atami Onsen is one of Japan's leading hot spring areas. Located in Atami in Shizuoka Prefecture, it is regarded as one of the three major hot springs in Japan, and inns and hotels line the seafront facing Sagami Bay. In the vicinity of Atami Station you can enjoy eating onsen manju (hot spring-steamed buns) and rice crackers, as well as Atami's delicacies such as ika menchi (fried fish and squid) and aji no tataki donburi (horse mackerel rice bowl). You can also take a day trip by ferry to Hatsushima Island, where you can enjoy activities such as diving, star-gazing, and fishing. Atami can be reached in 35 minutes from Tokyo by Shinkansen, 90 minutes from Nagoya, and 2 hours from Osaka
