Features of Mt. Fuji・Lake Kawaguchi Area
The Kawaguchiko area is located on the north side of Mt. Fuji and is home to five hot springs: Reimine no Yu, Tensui no Yu, Reisui no Yu, Fuyo no Yu, and Shurei no Yu. Along the lakeside, there are many inns and hotels with open-air baths and many with views of Mt. Fuji. Beautiful views of Mt. Fuji can be seen in each season: Fuji and cherry blossoms in spring, beautifully lit lodges on the slopes at night during the summer, colored leaves across the mountains in autumn, and the famous snow-capped peak in winter. There are also many attractive museums along the lakeside, and the area is welcomes many tourists throughout the four seasons. The nearby Gotemba area to the south is about two hours from Tokyo Station via the Tokaido Shinkansen. Here you can find some of Japan's largest shopping outlets, the Fuji Safari Park, Shiraito Falls, and other tourist spots.
