Features of Hakuba・Omachi・Azumino Area

The Hakuba / Omachi area is a popular ski resort area with skiers both in Japan and overseas, and is home to many ski resorts including Hakuba Happo-one Snow Resort and Hakuba Goryu Snow Resort. Omachi Onsenkyo is a famous hot spring resort located along the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, an area that has become popular with foreign visitors to Japan in recent years. You can enjoy the Oyama cherry blossoms in spring, river activities in summer, colored leaves in autumn, and skiing in winter. Hotaka Onsenkyo, located in the town of Hotaka in Azumino at the foot of the Northern Alps, has a charming landscape and is home to museums and glass studios. Wasabi, apples, and soba noodles are the local specialties of this region. The Hakuba / Omachi area can be reached by Hokuriku Shinkansen and bus in around 3 and a half to 4 hours from Tokyo Station.
