Hanamaki Onsen, nestled in the rich nature of the Ou Mountains, is a town of inns surrounded by rows of pine and cherry trees. It is a hot spring resort loved by famous Japanese writers and artists such as Kenji Miyazawa and Kotaro Takamura. In the vicinity, you can also enjoy sightseeing at a memorial museum related to Kenji Miyazawa, a rose garden with a flower sundial designed by him, and Konjikido of Chusonji Temple, a World Heritage Site.
