Features of Imabari・Shimanami Kaido Area

The Seto Inland Sea Shimanami Kaido is a sea route that crosses the bridges that connect the beautiful islands. The 60-km-long road connects Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture, where you can enjoy the scenery of the islands in the Seto Inland Sea. The "Cycling Road" is famous for being the first bicycle road in Japan, allowing people to bike across the strait. A 20-minute drive or shuttle ride from Imabari Station takes you to the Nibukawa Valley, an area surrounded by greenery and valleys, and was selected as the second best place in the "100 best natural areas of Shikoku worth preserving in the 21st century." Imabari Station is about 2 hours by limited express train from Okayama Station and about 40 minutes by express train from Matsuyama Station.
