Features of Katsuura Onsen Area
Katsuura Onsen is a region that consists of Nanki-Katsuura Onsen and Yukawa Onsen, and is part of Nachikatsuura Town, an area home to 200 different hot springs and the most in Wakayama Prefecture. Katsuura Port has flourished as a base for pelagic and near-shore fishing since ancient times, and has the largest catch of tuna in Japan. Here you can enjoy tuna and other seafood for dinner. The area is also close to Kumano Kodo, a World Heritage site. You can also enjoy stunning ocean views , swimming in the sea, and cruising on a sightseeing boat. It takes four hours from Shin-Osaka Station to Kii-Katsuura Station by train on the Kuroshio Limited Express.
