Features of Kusatsu Onsen
Kusatsu Onsen is one of the most famous hot springs in Japan, and is a lively hot spring resort with many inns and souvenir stores around the famous "Yubatake," a hot water field. The spring water, known to have sterilizing functions, spews out from many places across town, and visiting the various hot springs is free. From Tokyo, it takes two and a half hours from Ueno Station to Kusatsu by limited express train, and from there, it is accessible by bus. Another recommended option is to take a direct bus from Shibuya or Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal.
