Features of Minakami Onsen Area
There are many hot springs in Minakami and is known collectively as the Minakami 18 (Minakami Onsen, Tanigawa Onse, Unose Onsen, Yubiso Onsen, Mukouyama Onsen, Takaragawa Onsen, Yunokoya Onsen, Uenohara Onsen, Kamimoku Onsen, Tsukiyono Onsen, Sanazawa Onsen, Namesawa Onsen, Yujuku Onsen, Akaiwa Onsen, Kogen Chibamura Onsen, Kawafuru Onsen, Sarugakyo Onsen, and Hoshi Onsen). You can enjoy rafting in the summer, autumn leaves in the fall, and skiing in the winter. It takes about 70 minutes from Tokyo Station to Jomo-Kogen Station by Shinkansen, and then about 30 minutes by bus or hotel shuttle to Minakami.
