Aomori Prefecture is located in the most northen part of Honshu. It is a region blessed with nature everywhere - from magnificent natural landscapes and fall colors, to snow activities and so on. The best of Japan's snow region is here. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site 'Shirakami-Sanchi', or join a tour to witness the wild winter landscape. Ride the winter-only 'Tsugaru Stove Train' with its old-fashioned stove installed in its carriage. There are many tourist places to visit from Tsugaru - known for its apples, to the maguro tuna of Ōma, to Aomori City where the Nebuta Festival is held. This is a prefecture worth visiting at least once.
