Kōchi Prefecture is a region full of scenic nature. It is here where can find the bow-like coast of Katsurahama; or Shikoku's Shimanto River, sometimes referred to as the "last clear stream of Japan". There is excellent local cuisine in abundance in Kōchi Prefecture and are held in high regard. The place that comes to mind out of all the great places on offer is Hirome Market - home to around 40 shops and 20 gift shops. It is the place to try and buy fresh fish and local cusine from the region; and the somewhat confined space makes it a great place to chat to the locals over a drink. The market is also a useful place to buy some souveniers to remember Kōchi by.
