Activity

Kyoto Tenku Lounge, a unique place where you can enjoy food while stimulating your five senses

Sankoji Temple, has long offered healing to people as a temple closest to Paradise in Kyoto, is now a space to refresh. The view of Kyoto city that opens up before you, the chirping of birds, the murmuring of streams, and the rustling of leaves, all offer a refreshing getaway from the stress of modern society to clear your senses and get away from city life. Visitors can take in the tranquility surrounded by nature.

During the fall foliage season, we will serve food prepared with local ingredients and hold live music concerts featuring violinist Satomi Fukuzawa.

We work together with local restaurants and caterers to prepare dishes made using local ingredients from Oharano, and will hold live music concerts featuring violinist Satomi Fukuzawa. And we offer food and drinks including black tea made with Kyoto-sourced tea leaves, craft beer made in Kyoto, drinks made in collaboration with a sake brewery, and unique Japanese-style designed cookies created in collaboration with a Kyoto-based sugar cookie artist. In partnership with a renowned Nishijin weaver in Kyoto, we will use Nishijin textiles for table runners, wall hangings, and other items, that will give a fresh impression of the Kyoto brand in a location away from the bustle of the city center.

945-year-old Sankoji Temple is referred to as the temple closet to Paradise

According to Buddhism, Paradise is located in the west, and Sankoji Temple is situated in Kyoto's westernmost regions of the mountain. It is one of the few temples in Kyoto with a panoramic view of the entire city and is referred to as the "Temple of the Heavens."
