Activity

By strolling through the hot spring resort in yukata to an izakaya (Japanese style pub), you can enjoy the local cuisine and sake of Hida.

You can take part in the traditional Japanese hot springs experience, which includes strolling around in yukata and geta (Japanese sandal), and dine at a izakaya, a pub that is only found in the hot spring resort region. You will receive a JPY 3,000 course meal and one welcome drink at a participating restaurant.

Experience the local entertainment to learn about hot spring culture (changes weekly)

The Shirasagi-za Theater in Gassho-mura offers the following events on a weekly basis.
(1) Dance with geiko, the flower of hot springs (2) Wadaiko drum performance with a local taiko drumming group (3) Pretending to be a Kabuki actor, a local performing art that Gifu Prefecture is proud of

Gassho Village light-up event and festival fair experience (with gohei-mochi rice cakes)

Visitors can take in the Gassho Village's nighttime illumination, which is generally off limits and the festival fair experience there, where they will also receive a gohei-mochi (rice cake) as a gift.

Pick-up bus is available

A shuttle bus will be available every 30 minutes between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. *Please check the flow of the day for bus drop-off and pick-up locations.

    Please pick up an information pamphlet and experience coupon at the Gero Onsen Tourist Information Center or Gero City Tourist Exchange Center.

  • Board the shuttle bus to Gero Onsen at night

    A shuttle bus will run every 30 minutes from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. (Bus stopovers: (1) Kusakabe Armeria, (2) Suimeikan, (3) Shirasagibashi Bridge, (4) Mochikawa-kan, (5) Waiwai Hiroba, (6) Gassho-mura Village)

  • Experience local performing arts at Shirasagi-za Theater in Gassho-mura Village

    The content of the experience changes weekly. (Please check the Remarks section for the schedule.)

  • Festival fair experience in Gassho-mura Village and visit several Izakayas in the hot spring resort area

    Enjoy a sample of Gohei Mochi rice cake in Gassho-mura Village and local cuisine and sake in the hot spring resort area!

  • Strolling around the hot spring area at night in yukata and also enjoy Onsen-dera Temple autumn leaves illuminated (illumination: 4:30 PM - 9:30 PM/visit: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM).
