Draw Ensō of Zen art with a brush (before)
Ensō is a circular symbolic representation of enlightenment, truth, Buddha-nature, and the entire universe. First of all, feel free to draw a circle with a brush.
Zazen will be teached by the chief priest.
The chief priest teaches zazen (座禅: zazen), and Zen meditation (坐禅: zazen) three times. The reason for the three times is that the foundation of zazen consists of three parts.
Talk about Ensō and draw the Ensō of zazen art on Sekishu-Banshi paper which is one of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage(after)
After the second zazen, you will hear a Zen picturesque story. This picturesque story is an important philosophy that all Zen monks must learn. You can find a secret of Ensō in this story. After learning the meaning of Ensō and preparing your mind with zazen, draw Ensō again. The second time you will draw on a special paper, Sekishu-Banshi paper. Sekishu-Banshi paper has been selected as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and is made by a manufacturing method that has continued for more than a thousand years.
