Activity
Winter forests are full of things to discover♪
Walking on the frozen lake, looking at the artistic snow on the trees, and following animal trails are just a few of the surprises and discoveries to be made in the winter forest.
Beginners are welcome!
Snowshoeing is a recreational sport anyone can enjoy from the moment you put your snowshoes on. The pleasure of stepping on fresh snow and walking along a pathless trail is sure to be an addictive experience.

During the tour, the guide will take pictures of you and give them to you as a memory to take home. (on request only)
A special winter experience in Togakushi!
Togakushi Shrine is busy with tourists from spring to autumn, but in winter, the area is covered with thick snow and is very quiet and mysterious. We will walk deep into the forest and explore the area on snowshoes which can be done only during winter.
Schedule
Meet and reception at Kurohime Station at 8:30am
An attendant will be waiting for you with a board at Kurohime Station. Please present your My Page reservation screen at the reception desk. If you would like to have your photos taken during the tour, please let us know. You will travel by pick-up vehicle to the starting point.
9:30am Tour Start
We will start walking from the area around Togakushi Forest Botanical Garden. In the beginning, you will be given a lecture on how to put on and use snowshoes and poles.
11:00am Break at Kagamiike Pond
The spectacular Kagamiike Pond is transformed into a vast snowfield during the winter months. We will walk on the frozen pond and enjoy the panoramic view of the Togakushi mountain range stretching out before you. (Depending on pond conditions, the schedule may change).
12:15 Lunch
For lunch, we will go to a soba (buckwheat) noodle shop near the approach to Okusha Shrine.
1:30pm Stroll around Togakushi Okusha Shrine and the forest reserve
The snow-covered rows of 400-year-old cedar trees and Zuijinmon Gate are a magical sight not to be missed. We will then take a walk through the forest of giant trees.

Things guests need to prepare on the day of the activity (clothes, belongings, etc.)
Waterproof and warm clothing such as ski wear, base layer of warm and dry material, winter shoes, gloves, hat, sunglasses, drink, snacks and other food, lunch for those allergic to soba (buckwheat) noodles.

Notes
- Lunch will only be served from the soba (buckwheat) menu, so those with soba allergies are advised to bring their own lunch, e.g. packed lunches.
- The cost of lunch at the soba (buckwheat) noodle restaurant is to be paid directly at the site.
- Due to the size of the snowshoes, participants must have a shoe size of at least 20 cm.
- If you would like to have your photos taken during the tour, please ask at reception on the day. The data will be given to you after the tour is over.
- The event may be cancelled after the booking has been made due to inclement weather or other reasons. In such cases, WAmazing Play customer support will contact the emergency contact after 3pm the day before. If the event is cancelled on the day due to weather or other reasons, the operator will contact the emergency contact, so please make sure to check your email and incoming calls on the day.
