We are a kimono rental shop that emphasizes a "Kyoto perspective through the eyes of Kyoto locals." We have a reputation for providing kimonos that are one rank above the rest with classic styling. There are many repeat customers, such as Kyoto locals, who usually do not like the atmosphere of "rental shops."
Our store remained true to its original aesthetic while concentrating on "traditional" and "Kyoto-like" products. Based on the owner's 30 years of creative experience in the field of kimonos, we offer a lineup of high-quality kimonos and traditional styling. We have received support from local customers in Kyoto as well as "customers of all ages" who "know what high quality is" and have a "passion for kimono."
-We do not offer "fast" or "cheap" service
-We are a shop that satisfies customers who want to wear a kimono that has "traditional" and "Kyoto-like" characteristics and who want to wear them properly.

UME SAKURA is located in central Kyoto, just off Kyoto City Hall, and has excellent access to sightseeing spots.
The location is also a fashionable area for adults, where new and old coexist harmoniously and where many excellent Kyoto-style shops are gathered, including well-established tea shop Ippodo, Murakami Kaishindo, a baked goods shop, as well as contemporary cafes and antique shops.
This 100-year-old Kyoto townhouse with historical importance is situated in a quiet neighborhood, just off a main street, where you can experience the ambiance of Kyoto, ideal for enjoying kimonos, even though it is conveniently close to downtown Kawaramachi and Shijo.

[Precaution]
- The store is not suitable for children.
Please note that the shop has wide, fragile windows and other features that can be dangerous for young children, that's uncommon in a modern structure as the shop is in a 100-year-old traditional "Machiya" townhouse in Japan.
- Please refrain from bringing pets.
- No one else is permitted to accompany or enter the store unless they are renting a kimono. *Up to one interpreter can accompany the guest.
　In general, we ask that only the person renting a kimono come to the store and that accompanying guests spend their time nearby.
・This plan and store are staffed by Japanese only. We will be able to communicate with you in Japanese or in simple English.
- Please don't smoke or wear perfumes with strong scents.
　※Please note that in the event of damage caused by the above, a separate cleaning fee of JPY 5,000 to JPY 10,000 will be charged, depending on the degree of damage.
- Return time: Please be sure to return by 5:30PM on the day of your visit. The store closes at 6:00PM.

[Luggage can be stored free of charge]
When you go out in kimono, we will keep your clothes, luggage, suitcases, bags, etc., free of charge. You do not have to worry about your luggage at all, even if you come directly to our store after your arrival in Kyoto.
