Activity

Instructors are professional craftsmen

The instructor will be Mr. Tojin Yamazaki, who has been running the dyeing and weaving business for generations since the Meiji era and presides over the workshop Kusakiya Somenoie as a professional craftsman.

Learn the history of indigo dyeing, stencil dyeing, and ukiyoe

What is indigo and what is its history? We will learn the history of katazome (stencil dyeing) and ukiyoe (woodblock prints). A 30-minute explanation will help you better understand.

Take home your unique piece of artwork that day.

By expressing the shades of indigo in your own way, you will create a one-of-a-kind work of art. You can take your work home on the day.
