Activity

Learn about the island by interacting with the locals - Walk along the coast at sunrise with a beach cleanup activist who lives on the island -

We will clean the coast of Ishigaki Island while interacting with locals. By listening to the residents and learning about the island and its nature, Ishigaki Island becomes more familiar to us. (A new learning experience to think about the island, the sea, the earth, and environmental issues on our own terms).

Experience the ocean and protect it through beach cleanups

Meeting time is before sunrise. While sitting on yoga mats and drinking hot tea, we will learn about the ocean and marine litter in Ishigaki Island. Take this opportunity in the early morning to listen to the sounds of nature.

Learn the traditional craft Yaeyama Minsah-ori from a craftsman

You can learn the art of weaving directly from skilled weavers who have undergone technical training.

Express your own Ishigaki Sea with Yaeyama Minsah-ori

Warp threads containing 180 recycled yarns and weft threads are spun to create your own beautiful Ishigaki Island beach, sea, and sky on a loom.

Relax at Cafe FIVE FOUR EVER

After the weaving experience, relax with a cup of coffee at the café near the Kogei Museum.

Schedule

  • 5:30 AM We will pick you up from your hotel (In Ishigaki Island) and transfer to the beach

    Please present the reservation screen of My Page at the reception desk. Please note that the pick-up time may vary.

  • 6:10 AM - 7:10 AM Beach cleanup at sunrise

    Please have a cup of tea before the beach cleanup. After watching the beautiful sunrise and taking a deep breath, we will start the beach cleanup.

  • Around 8:00 AM, you will be transferred to your hotel (In Ishigaki Island).

    Please make your way to Azamiya Minsah Kogei Museum.

  • 10:00 AM Meet-up at Azamiya Minsah Kogei Museum

    Tour the exhibition room. A guide will show you the exhibition rooms on the second floor of the Azamiya Minsah Kogei Museum.

  • 10:30 AM Make Yaeyama Minsah-ori coasters using recycled yarn, Dismissal at 11:30 AM

    After the experience, it will take about 30 minutes for us to give you the finished product. A drink will be served at the café nearby while you wait.

Beach cleanups are conducted on sandy beaches, so comfortable shoes or flip-flops are recommended.

• The hotel pick-up time for the beach cleanup will be 5:30 AM from October to March and 5:00 AM from April to September.
If there are changes to the meeting time due to sunrise times, we will notify you after your reservation is confirmed.
• While the beach cleanup site is initially scheduled for Inoda Fishing Port, it may be changed based on beach conditions. You will be informed of the final beach location by the day before the event.
• Please note that no refunds will be issued for unused transportation services between your hotel and the beach.
• The pick-up service is exclusively for transportation between the hotel and the beach on the morning of the tour day. For the Minsah-ori experience, kindly make your way to the Minsah Kogei Museum independently.

[In case of cancellation]
• The tour may be canceled after the reservation is made due to inclement weather or natural disasters. In that case, WAmazing Play's customer support will contact you by email after 3:00 PM the day before the event.
