Receive an explanation about the samurai Kikkawa Motoharu and his residence at Sengoku no Niwa
You will learn about the history of the samurai Kikkawa Motoharu. While viewing the restored displays of the residence, you can gain insights into the historical background of the location where the experience takes place.
Wear armor and take photos in front of the armor display of the samurai Kikkawa Motoharu
Wear armor and take commemorative photos in front of the armor display of the samurai Kikkawa Motoharu. Afterwards, dressed as a samurai, head towards Sengoku no Niwa, the site of the residence. Along the way, you can see the stone walls that have been standing since 1585.
Practice with a wooden sword and experience test cutting with a real Japanese sword
At Sengoku no Niwa, you will train in Makko-giri (a vertical cut from above) using a wooden sword. While practicing this fundamental samurai technique, you will also experience the spirit and culture of samurai who wielded Japanese swords. Afterward, you will have a test cutting experience using a real sword, slicing through rolled tatami mats set up on a cutting stand. Focus your mind and concentrate as you bring down the Japanese sword. The sense of accomplishment when you cut through the rolled tatami is an unparalleled experience.
Take photos at Sengoku no Niwa
Take photos dressed as a samurai in the nature-rich Sengoku no Niwa. A guide will assist you in capturing your memories.

• Japanese swords (Shinken) are extremely sharp. Please follow the guide's instructions and handle them appropriately. (They will only be used for cutting the rolled tatami mat.)
