This tour invites you to explore heritage sites linked to the story and cultural assets of the Japan Heritage "Izumo no Kuni Fudoki"—a collection of oral narratives compiled in the early 8th century as a report to the imperial court—while engaging with current practitioners and finding inspiration for your own future.
Experience the spirit of the samurai with a sword-drawing (batto) session at the Okuizumo Tatara Sword Museum
At the Okuizumo Tatara Sword Museum, you can explore the tradition of tatara iron-making and the history of swords. You'll have the chance to hold a sword and try batto, the act of drawing a sword from its scabbard. This hands-on experience offers a deeper understanding of samurai spirit and mindset, allowing you to connect with Japanese historical culture in a meaningful way.
