Activity
Arima Kenban, with its 15 geiko, has become an important pillar in preserving Japanese culture!
While Kyoto and Tokyo also preserve traditional cultures, Arima Kenban, with its 15 geiko, stands out. In recent years, in addition to serving overseas guests, it has also expanded its activities beyond traditional formats, such as offering "on-location traditional Ozashiki dinner parties" on luxury cruise ships.
Learn the traditional dance of Arima geiko directly from working geiko
The geiko will teach you the chorus portion of traditional dances such as the Arima Momiji (performance *varies by season).
The experience concludes with a "performance showcase" for all participants
It's not just about learning the dance. You will actually get to showcase what you've learned on stage! Now, will you be able to dance well?!
Experience authentic dancing with professional props (artificial flowers, etc.)!
The artificial flowers you hold are real ones used by the geiko!
Pass the strict check by the geiko and aim for full certification!
At the end, everyone performs to the music. Working geiko will judge and evaluate the performance. If you can dance well, you will receive a full certification!

Meet up & Reception
Please present the My Page reservation screen upon reception.
After receiving a explanation of the history from the geiko, you will enjoy a demonstrative performance by the geiko (with matcha and confections included) *Photography allowed
A geiko will talk about the history of Arima and explain about her wig, followed by a Q&A session. Enjoy green tea and confections while watching a geiko perform a traditional dance that has been handed down in Arima through the generations.
Acting instruction from a geiko
Learn the dance and movements along with the Geiko, while being taught the dance you saw in the demonstration performance.
Dressing (kimono + wig) and makeup *only for those who request it and if the size fits
Change into an authentic outfit
Performance by participants, evaluation by the geiko, and certification awarding ceremony
At the end, everyone will perform the dances they had learned together on stage
