Joyasan Fukushoji, the head temple of the Shingon sect's Sumadera branch, was founded in 886 during the Heian period (794-1185). Known affectionately as Sumadera, the temple has a serene and nostalgic atmosphere, attracting many visitors in search of peace and tranquility.
