Kimono experience in a Kyo-machiya (traditional townhouse)

Housed in a renovated Kyo-machiya, this shop lets you select your preferred kimono, obi (sash), and accessories while enjoying views of the traditional courtyard garden. Professional staff will prepare you with expert dressing and hair styling.

Explore the Higashiyama District by rickshaw

Discover Kyoto’s timeless charm through famous temples like Kiyomizu-dera and the lively streets of Gion, where geiko and maiko perform. Enjoy traditional machiya townhouses and atmospheric stone-paved lanes, all set against the backdrop of Kyoto’s rich history spanning over a thousand years.

Take a lunchtime food walk through the popular Ninenzaka Street

You can enjoy a food stroll at one of Kyoto’s top sightseeing spots, Ninenzaka. (Lunch is included in the plan, up to JPY 3,000 per person.)

Easy kimono return service available at the hotel

You’ll be dropped off at your hotel at the end, where you can conveniently return your kimono. No need to worry about changing clothes or your belongings—just unwind and enjoy the rest of your time.


Schedule

  • Pickup from your accommodation

    Show the reservation page from your My Page upon arrival. A private taxi will pick you up at your accommodation and take you to the shop.

  • Kimono dressing and hair styling

    After arriving at the shop, professional staff will dress you in your kimono and style your hair. You can choose your favorite kimono, obi (sash), and accessories.

  • Take a rickshaw tour around the Higashiyama District

    Stroll through the nostalgic streets of Higashiyama by rickshaw while wearing a kimono. Soak in the rich heritage and charm of Kiyomizu-dera and the surrounding Gion district.

  • Enjoy a lunchtime food walk through Ninenzaka Street

    Enjoy freely exploring and eating your way through the popular sightseeing spot, Ninenzaka. (Lunch expenses up to JPY 3,000 per person included).

  • Drop-off at your accommodation following Kyoto sightseeing

    At the end, you’ll be taken to your accommodation, where you can return your kimono.

Notes:
• If you are late for the meeting time without prior notice, your reservation will be canceled.
• For groups of four or more, multiple taxis will be arranged.
• Pickup and drop-off services are limited to accommodations within Kyoto City.

Regarding Kimono Return:
When returning your kimono, please use the special bag given to you when leaving the shop. Place the entire kimono set inside the bag and leave it at the front desk of your accommodation. The kimono shop staff will come to collect it at a later date.

Cancellation Policy:
The experience may be canceled for safety reasons due to inclement weather, natural disasters, or other various circumstances. In such cases, the organizer will contact the emergency details provided. Please be sure to check your e-mail or incoming calls on the day. (Notifications are typically sent by 11:00pm on the day before the experience.)
