Activity
Torin-ji Temple
Built in 1614 under the rule of the Satsuma Domain, this was the first Buddhist temple in the Ishigaki region and is a designated Important Cultural Property. The temple was once destroyed by the Great Meiwa Tsunami and later rebuilt in 1786. The rebuilt temple is also recognized as a National Important Cultural Property.
Tojin Baka Tomb
This site is renowned for its stunning, vividly colored Chinese-style decorations. Nearby is Kannonzaki Lighthouse, where you can enjoy breathtaking sunset views from the observation deck. It is a popular spot for families.
Ishigaki Yaima Village
Experience traditional Yaeyama Island life through a range of hands-on attractions and events, and encounter unique animals such as squirrel monkeys.
Kabira Bay
Located on the northwestern coast of Ishigaki Island, Kabira Bay can be explored by glass-bottom boat. The bay is also well known for its black pearl cultivation.
Tamatorizaki Observation Platform
Located in the eastern part of Ishigaki Island, the view from the top of this popular observation platform is truly breathtaking.
