Activity

What is Kanazawa-juku, a "post town" on the Koshu Kaido road?

The houses are lined with magnificent mansions, including a former inn and a former salt wholesaler.

Let's learn recipes that have been passed down locally.

You can have a good time learning not only the recipes but also the wisdom and ingenuity of the local people by talking with the local grannies.

You can eat and enjoy the local cuisine that you just made.

After learning, you can enjoy your meal at your leisure.

Schedule

  • 16:00 First, we introduce ourselves to each other.

we will hear from the grandmothers about their experiences living in the "post town". After learning about the roots and key points of the menu to be prepared that day, it is time to go into the kitchen.

  • 16:30 Start cooking: Learn from the locals and taste and cook together.

Around 4 seasonal dishes, including "shime tofu" and "abura-age maki," or fried bean curd rolls.

  • 18:15 Time to eat: Once the tables are set and the meal is ready, we will say goodbye to the grannies.

Take your time and enjoy your meal.

  • Scheduled to end around 7:00PM
