Activity

Snowshoeing experience in a primeval forest in winter!

A primeval forest at the foot of Mt. Asahi, Hokkaido's highest mountain. It is one of the snowiest places in Hokkaido, with snow sometimes piling up to knee-high levels.
Snowshoeing is a great way to explore the primeval forest.

The Winter Woods are full of fun!

Walk through a secluded, trackless snowfield or use the slopes to make slides There are plenty of ways to have fun!

Specialized equipment can be rented free of charge!

Specialized equipment such as snowshoes and poles can be rented free of charge.

Small group tours with full support

Tours are offered in small groups, with full support, so even first-time snowshoers are welcome.
Professional guides certified by the Japan Mountain Guides Association will provide support/lectures.

After the descent, it's time for hot springs!

After descending the mountain, you can stop by Asahidake Onsen if you wish. Asahidake Onsen is located in Daisetsuzan National Park and is one of the oldest hot springs in Hokkaido, at the foot of Daisetsuzan Mountain Range.
Warm up your cold body in the hot springs.

  • Meeting / Reception

    Please present the My Page reservation screen at the reception.

  • Transfer to the activity site → Prepare to enter the mountain

    After registration, we will transfer to the activity site by guided vehicle (60 minutes) → Short lecture and preparation before we start.

  • Start of the Snowshoe Walk

    Put on snowshoes and get started. Into the snow-covered primeval forest. (150 min.)

  • Enjoy hot springs after descending the mountain

    If you wish, we will stop by Asahidake Onsen. Each participant will pay their own bathing fee.

  • End of tour

    After descending the mountain, we will provide transportation to Asahikawa Station. (60 minutes)

[Precautions]
- Children under 9 years old are not allowed to participate in the tour.
- Although the guides will do their best to ensure your safety during the trip, there are various hazards associated with outdoor activities, such as falls, falling rocks, falling snow, falling branches, and so on. We ask that you be fully aware of the risks associated with mountain climbing. The guide may not be held responsible for any accidents that occur during the climb.
- Please do not participate if you are concerned about your health or physical condition.
- Please wear comfortable clothing. Rental clothing will keep you warm enough to participate in the tour. However, please bring warm clothing if you have any.
- Both receptionists and guides can speak basic English.
- If you would like us to pick you up and drop you off, please let us know the name of your accommodation in the additional information section. (within 1.5 km of Sapporo Station).

- The event may be canceled after the reservation is made due to reasons such as bad weather. In such cases, WAmazing Play customer support will contact you by e-mail after 2 PM two days prior to the event to inform your emergency contact.
