  • 12:50PM - Nanzen-ji Temple, a temple combining beautiful nature and history / 1:45PM - Yasaka Shrine, the stage of Gion Festival, one of the three biggest festivals in Japan, and Maruyama Park, the most famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Kyoto.

(About Nanzen-ji Temple) The San-mon Gate of Nanzen-ji Temple is one of the three most famous gates in Japan. You'll be overwhelmed by the size of the San-mon Gate as you approach it and you'll also be able to see the magnificence of its pillars and the massive stone lanterns, the largest in the East. Although it is located within Nanzen-ji Temple, which preserves the past in the present, the Suirokaku (a high-rise waterway bridge) has a modern feel. The red brick arch drawn by the beautiful curve matches the Japanese-style architecture of the temple and has a distinctive atmospheric beauty. Visitors can get up close and touch the Suirokaku waterway bridge in person and they can even see the waterway bridge from above if they climb the nearby stairs. This is a place where you can take fantastical photos of the brick building and natural scenery in harmony, so be sure to take your camera.
(About Yasaka Shrine) Yasaka Shrine has long been called "Gion Shrine" and is famous across Japan. The shrine was built to quell an epidemic that swept through Kyoto and has since been worshipped as a shrine to ward off evil spirits.
(Maruyama Park)Maruyama Park has played an important role in Kyoto's culture, not only for its elegant scenery. In April, when the cherry blossoms are at their peak, the park attracts many tourists. There are walking trails and benches where visitors can view the cherry blossoms from various angles and enjoy the pink scenery to their heart's content.
