Experience the 200-year history of Takasaki Daruma dolls

Daruma No Furusato Daimonya is home to a traditional craftsman who was awarded the Yellow Ribbon Medal of Honor by the Japanese government. You can experience the long history of craftsmanship of Daruma dolls.

Make an original Daruma doll!

Simply imprint your handprint to create an original Daruma doll. It makes a great memento for your child's handprints, baby's footprints, and for friends, couples, and families!

There are many Daruma designs! Find your favorite one!

Of course there is the traditional red, but colorful gradations, as well as seasonal designs, are very popular these days.

Photography and filming are allowed during the activity!

Photos and videos can be taken during the hand-printing activity. (Except for in the workshop) Not only does it make for great photos, but it is a great way to capture and cherish your memories of the experience.

Display your Daruma on your shelf or desk!

Daruma dolls with handprints can be taken home and put on display! It can be placed anywhere, as long as it is handled with care.

- Daruma No Furusato Daimonya offers Daruma doll-painting activities with the aim of teaching people about the art of Daruma. However, we do not allow visitors who fail to understand the purpose and appropriate atmosphere of this activity to participate including:
1. Those who have been drinking
2. Those who are found to disturb and violate public order and customs
We may deny participation even after you arrive at the store on the day of the event.
- Babies and small children should be accompanied by their parents or guardians during the activity
Also, we ask for your understanding that there may be cases in which the footprints are not imprinted clearly due to the child's movement or other factors. Please understand that this is part of the fun of making unique memories from this activity.
- Please pay for the Daruma doll on-site. (Size: 12cm and up / 980 yen and up)
- Although this has not happened before, there is a possibility that your clothing may become dirty. Please come with clothes with sleeves that can be rolled up to the elbow.
