During the winter season, the kotatsu boat is used.

Geibikei Gorge stretches for approximately 2 kilometers along the Satetsu River, a tributary of the Kitakami River, with limestone cliffs over 50 meters high. The Geibikei Gorge Boat Tour allows you to relax in a hand-rowed boat and enjoy the beautiful natural scenery.
*The boat is wheelchair-accessible, ensuring that wheelchair users can join the tour with peace of mind.

[Safety Measures]
- We use floatation seat cushions approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
During normal operation, the cushion is used as a seat cushion, and in case of emergency, it is used by passing both arms through the sides.
Prior to departure, the captain explains the proper usage to all passengers.
- In the event of heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, earthquakes, or river flooding, we will cancel the tour to ensure the safety of our customers.
- In the event of an earthquake with a magnitude of 3 or higher, we will make every effort to evacuate passengers whether in motion or docked, and return to the departure point as soon as possible. When evacuating, please follow the instructions of the captain.
- We conduct regular inspections of our vessels and ensure thorough route management and instruction by our navigators. During times of increased water levels, the captain personally confirms the safety of the route.
- Our boats are equipped with power boats, wheelchairs, and complete life-saving equipment. We conduct monthly inspections of our emergency supplies and hold rescue training twice a year in the spring and fall.
- All boats are covered by liability insurance in case of emergencies.
- All boat operators are required to pass a technical examination conducted by Geibi Tourist Center Co., Ltd. We also conduct daily training to improve their shiphandling skills.
- Only vessels that have passed an inspection by the Japan Craft Inspection Organization at the time of construction may be used.
(After that, vessels that have passed an interim inspection two years later and a full inspection four years later shall be used.)
- We strictly adhere to the maximum passenger capacity indicated on the vessel inspection certificate issued by the Japan Craft Inspection Organization. (2 persons over 1 year old and under 12 years old shall be considered as one adult.
