The Lake Biwa Cruise on the steamship "Michigan" offers a scenic tour of Lake Biwa and its surrounding nature, including Mt. Hiei, throughout the four seasons. The top deck provides a 360-degree panoramic view of Lake Biwa. The interior of the ship exudes a classical atmosphere, providing a special space and a unique experience.

The operating period varies depending on the departure time. Please keep that in mind when making a reservation.

[Operating Status and Cancelation]
•Please check the official website for the operating status.
In the event of inclement weather such as typhoons, strong winds, or poor visibility, the cruise may be partially altered or canceled (canceled during storm warnings).
We will make a decision on whether to operate as soon as possible based on weather conditions, but please note that we may make a last-minute decision for safety reasons due to sudden weather changes on the day of the cruise.
The cruise may also be canceled for private charters or events.

[Boarding Procedure]
•Please arrive at the designated port 20 minutes before departure and complete the check-in process. The waiting room is available after check-in.
•Please gather at the boarding gate 10 minutes before departure.

[Information]
•Free for children under 6 years old with one adult (one child fare is required for two children).
•The ship is equipped with a nursing room and a multipurpose toilet with a diaper changing station on the first floor (the nursing room is always locked, so please ask the crew if you'd like to use it)
•Boarding with a wheelchair is possible. The ship has an elevator (1F-3F) and a multipurpose toilet.
•Bringing food and drinks on board is prohibited. Please use the light refreshments provided on board.
•Smoking is prohibited on board. Please use the designated smoking area at Otsu Port.
•The Michigan Cruise may operate on the Bianca or other vessels.
*From mid-January to early March, the Michigan undergoes regular maintenance and the Bianca will be used for the cruise. In addition, other vessels may be used as substitute ships.
•Coin lockers are available in the waiting room at Otsu Port for your convenience.
•Bringing bicycles on board is prohibited.
•Pets are not allowed on board. Guide dogs and service dogs are allowed.
•Free Wi-Fi is available on board. Please note that connection may be slow depending on the route and other factors.
