Activity
Tour with a local guide to the sanctuary where the priests of Ishigaki Island pray 26 times a year to protect the area.
You will go on a tour with a guide to the Utaki, where Ishigaki Island's priests, known as Tsukasa, messengers of God traditionally down from mother to daughter through successive generations, offer their prayers.
For the first time, a village tour to experience a traditional village's rituals is offered at a popular tourist destination with glass boats.
For the first time, the rituals and spiritual culture hidden in a traditional village will be verbalized, and visitors will be able to walk and experience the undiscovered culture of the Kabira village.
Enjoy a relaxed time on the island
While strolling through the village's streets, visitors can observe how slowly time passes in Kabira.
Some of the tours will be available in foreign languages through the use of an audio guide, etc. *English and Chinese (Mandarin) only.
Even Japanese speakers have trouble recognizing words like Tsukasa and Utaki, but don't worry—some explanations will also use audio guides to fully explain the rituals.
We will stop for a break at a cafe with beautiful views of Kabira Bay and drink Kabira soda at the end of the day.
