Experience traditional culture at a Ryurei Tea Ceremony!

You can enjoy matcha green tea and Sakai wagashi (Japanese traditional confectionery) served on chairs and prepared in the style of Omotesenke, Urasenke, or Mushanokojisenke school of tea.

Enjoy a historical tea ceremony room!

The tea ceremony (chanoyu) facility faces the ruins of Sen no Rikyu's mansion, the place where Senke tea ceremony originated, allowing visitors to experience the world of tea ceremony.

It also features a wealth of information on the history and sightseeing of Sakai City!

The Tourist Information Exhibition Hall presents Sakai City's rich historical and cultural resources and provides a variety of information to help visitors enjoy sightseeing tours around the city.

Sakai Plaza of Rikyu and Akiko is a facility that provides sightseeing information on Sakai and allows visitors to experience the tea ceremony of Sen no Rikyu. It provides useful information for sightseeing in Sakai at the tourist information exhibition room. Visitors can also experience the tea ceremony at the Tea Ceremony Activity's Facility facing the Sen no Rikyu Residence, a place important for Senke tea ceremony, where visitors can enjoy matcha green tea and Sakai's Japanese sweets.

[Precautions]
- Please refrain from eating and drinking outside of the designated areas for hygiene purposes.
- Smoking is not permitted inside the facility.
- Please refrain from using writing utensils other than pencils, as they may stain the exhibits.
- To protect the exhibits, cameras and video cameras are not permitted in certain areas.
- To protect the exhibits inside the facility, please do not bring umbrellas into the exhibition rooms. Umbrella stands are available for visitors to use.
- Please refrain from bringing large items into the exhibition rooms. Please use the lockers.
- Please be quiet to preserve the environment of the tea ceremony space. Please turn off your cell phones or put them on silent mode. Please be careful with children as it is dangerous for them to run in the exhibition rooms and corridors.
- Pets are not allowed in the museum. However, animals on duty as caregivers (guide dogs, hearing dogs, etc.) are allowed to enter the museum. For the sake of environmental management, no plants may be brought into the building.
- Hazardous materials are not permitted.
- We will refuse entry to anyone who is intoxicated. Please follow the instructions of the staff, as we will strictly warn against any behavior that may cause trouble to viewers. You may be asked to leave the building.
- Wheelchairs and strollers are available for rent, but please note that quantities are limited.
