Activity

Kyoto Aquarium is located in Umekoji Park, a park with forests and lawns!

Get ready to be wowed by the dynamic dolphins and fascinated by the unique personalities of the penguins. This is a special aquarium where you can experience a deep connection with nature and its creatures.

The concept is "the closer you get, the more you'll like it."

The proximity between you and the creatures, between you and the staff, between you and the person you came with. We believe that proximity is the key to discovering new worlds.

Experience the impressive "Sea of Kyoto" large aquarium tank!

The large water tank, filled with around 500 tons of synthetic seawater, accurately mirrors the diverse marine life of Kyoto. The magnificent sight of fish gracefully swimming is truly awe-inspiring.

You can witness the world's largest amphibian, the giant salamander, right before your eyes!

The giant salamander, also known as a "living fossil" and the "world's largest amphibian," has a dedicated large exhibition area where you can enjoy its ecology.

Observe the adorable penguin from various angles!

On the first floor, you can observe the underwater scenery, while on the second floor, you can admire the view from the top of the hill. The contrast between them waddling on land and witnessing their dynamic dives underwater is truly mesmerizing.
