Let's visit Enryakuji Temple on Mt. Hiei (Konponchu-do)!

Enryaku-ji Temple, a World Heritage Site, is one of Japan's most famous temples, with a history and tradition spanning 1,200 years.
On the way to Enryaku-ji, you will enjoy a drive around Mount Hieizan and Okuhiei Driveway.

Let's visit Sanzen-in Temple!

Sanzen-in Temple is a representative temple of Ohara with 1,200 years of history and tradition. Visitors can enjoy the "Warabe Jizo," small and lovely Jizo statues that evoke the wabi-sabi aesthetic of Japan, and the pond garden, praised by the writer Yasushi Inoue as "a jewel box of the Orient."

Let's take a walk in Ohara, Kyoto!

Ohara is a basin village located at the foot of Mount Hieizan.
You can enjoy the traditional temples such as Sanzen-in Temple, Jikko-in Temple, Hosen-in Temple, Shorin-in Temple, and Raigo-in Temple, as well as the beautiful scenery of each of the four seasons.

Lunch will be a "Sanzen-in Bento" from Serio, a ryokan in Ohara, Kyoto.

Seasonal rice with fish and wild vegetables. *Menu and containers vary depending on the season.

  • 9:10 AM: Meet at the Kyoto bus stop for regular sightseeing buses

    If you wish to use the service on the same day, please present your electronic voucher in exchange for a ticket.

  • 9:20 AM: Depart from JR Kyoto Station Karasuma Exit, visit Konponenchu-do Hall of Hieizan Enryaku-ji Temple (80 min.)

    *The Konpochu-do Hall of Enryaku-ji Temple is currently undergoing renovation, but visitors are welcome to visit the hall.

  • Bus transfer through Oku-Hiei Driveway

    Enjoy the scenery along the way.

  • Free time to explore Sanzen-in Temple and Ohara, Kyoto & Lunch "Sanzen-in bento" at Serio Ryokan (160 min.)

    After the walk, return by bus to the Karasuma Exit of Kyoto Station to end the tour. (scheduled to arrive at 4:15 PM)
