Activity
Three hours of exhilarating cycling and an hour-long evening stroll through the picturesque Gion.
Touring with a bicycle is a great way to enjoy the highlights of Kyoto.
You can see many spots in a short amount of time if you go by bicycle.
The beautiful and refreshing Kamo River bike path will imbue you with a sense of freedom. Let the Imperial Palace, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Shimogamo Shrine as well as the virgin forest surround you.
Listen to an explanation of Geisha culture as you walk through the glittering Gion Hanamachi (the land of geisha culture) at night. Gion Hanamachi is at its most beautiful at night, and is a must-visit place in the evening.
Schedule
Ride the rental bikes (3-5 gears) comfortably to some of Kyoto's less touristy spots that are only known to experts in the area.
Here you can feel the local atmosphere. The tour starts from a quiet riverside bike path, indulging in the nature and the air of Kyoto.（Please present the My Page reservation screen at the reception.）
Stop at an off-the-beaten-path shrine that you cannot visit on typical sightseeing trips! Experience the underground water that springs forth.
You will pass the vastness of the Imperial Palace, a famous Zen Temple, a university campus, and a quiet residential area before heading to the Shimogamo Shrine (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Along the way, enjoy the virgin forest and beautiful architecture. Descend to the confluence of the beautiful river and explore the illuminated landscape. You will then return to the river and move on to the night walk part of the tour.
Gion Night Walk part. After returning your bike, you will begin your walk through Gion's beautiful entertainment area.
You will visit a couple of "Hanamachi (geisha areas)." Take in the wonderfully photogenic streets. Your guide will explain Gion's unique culture of geisha and teahouses.

If you are lucky, you may be able to see a beautiful geisha. The tour guide will also give you recommendations on where to have dinner. After completing this tour, you will be more familiar with Kyoto.

*The tour will be held even on rainy days, but if it rains heavily, the cycle course will be shortened.
No helmets are provided on this tour, as helmets are not required in Japan for riding bicycles.
The bike tour journey is basically flat, clear, and easy, but requires minimal riding skills.
If necessary, you can leave large baggage (suitcases, etc.) free of charge at the bicycle store.
