Hakuto Shrine is best known as being the setting for the White Rabbit of Inaba myth and is visited by those wishing for blessings in love and matchmaking. Experience Japanese mythology as you stroll through the beautiful grounds full of popular photo spots, including the famous white rabbit statue.

Try some matchmaking activities at Hakuto Shrine and wish for luck in love!

Visit Hakuto Shrine and try a variety of experiences, including buying cute omikuji fortune slips and collecting goshuin (red stamps). Wish for luck in love by purchasing a love stone to place on the torii gate or by tossing an original coin at the Hill of Hakuto.

The myth of the White Rabbit of Inaba tells the story of a rabbit saved by the god Okuninushi-no-Mikoto, who was then blessed to marry the beautiful Yakami-hime. Tottori is home to many sites linked to this myth, so you can enjoy stunning scenery while experiencing Japanese mythology! Some locals even specialize as "White Rabbit Tour Guides" and are eager to share the story with you and introduce you to the San'in Kaigan Unesco Global Geopark.

    Depart from the roadside station and explore the White Rabbit of Inaba myth along with your guide at Hakuto Shrine with key places such as the white rabbit statue and Mitarashi Pond.

  • Try your hand at a matchmaking activity after praying for some luck in love!

    After praying, why not purchase an omikuji fortune slip, amulate, goshuin (red stamp) or love stone and test your fate? Be sure to place the love stone on the torii gate for good luck in love!

  • Explore the legendary lands of the White Rabbit myth at the Hill of Hakuto!

    Enjoy the spectacular scenery on your walk along the path, and try your luck by throwing a love stone at the hill (from Ketanosaki Observation Deck).

  • Finish off your walk with an "Usagi-no-sandantobi-don" (Rabbit's Triple Jump Rice Bowl)

    Return to the roadside station via the coast route and enjoy your special lunch at Ginrin-tei. *Tour will end after your meal (for all languages)

Notes:
• The goshiun stamps and love stones used for the matchmaking activity are not included in the price. Please note that these will incur an additional cost if you wish to purchase them at Hakuto Shrine.
• Please note that you will be unable to enjoy the ocean views if dining while roadworks are being performed around the Michi no Eki.
• Please note that the English/Chinese-speaking guide will only accompany you during the walking portion of the tour. Be sure to inquire in advance about return transportation, as multi-lingual support during dining is not guaranteed.

• The experience may be canceled for safety reasons due to bad weather, natural disasters, or other unforeseen circumstances.
