Kanzashi Sugino is a long-established manufacturer founded 77 years ago, located in Mukojima, near Tokyo Skytree, in Sumida ward.
Experience making Tsumami Kanzashi, a traditional craft from Tokyo that has been around for 250 years since the Edo period (1603-1868)
This is a valuable experience where you will receive direct instructions from the third-generation proprietress and president, who are also master craftsmen.

Choose your favorite color and create a five-petal plum blossom kanzashi to match it. The Arenca hairpin set you select will be yours to take home as a souvenir.
Edo Tsumami Zaiku Experience
Using the basic "marutsumami" technique, you'll create a beautiful five-petal flower. First, choose five pieces of fabric from a selection of about 70 different patterns. Then, experience the traditional tsumami zaiku craft techniques passed down since the Edo period. Spread starch paste evenly on a board, place your chosen fabrics on top to absorb the glue, and finally arrange them onto the hairpin base to complete your five-petal flower.
Tour the workshop and try on a Kanzashi hair ornament at the photo spot
During the workshop tour, you'll get to see the artisans at work. Afterward, you can pick your favorite pre-made hairpin and take photos at the designated photo spot. Plus, anyone who shares their photos on social media will receive a cute kanzashi charm as a gift on the spot!
