Activity
No special preparations are needed for your transformation into a maiko with Japanese makeup, hair styling, gorgeous kimono, and hair ornaments. Please leave everything to the staff on the day of the event.
Photographers who specialize in capturing the beauty of maiko in old Japanese townhouses are in charge of the photography.
The venue for the maiko experience is an authentic Gion teahouse built in the Taisho era (1912-1926), a one-minute walk from the south gate of Yasaka Shrine. A photographer who is an expert on the beauty of maiko will take professional pictures of you in your maiko costume.
Three 2L-size photos are included.

Transform into a maiko
For women, Japanese clothes and hair and makeup are applied after changing to the hadajuban (kimono underwear).
Finally, change into a luxurious kimono suited to your tastes. From one of the many gorgeous hair ornaments, select a favorite hair pin to complete the transformation.Photography
The photos are taken at a traditional Japanese-style parlor studio.
A photographer who specializes in capturing the beauty of maiko will photograph you at the best angles.Take off the maiko dressing and ornaments, receive your photo album.
After taking the pictures, take off the kimono and wig, remove the makeup, and return to your usual self.
When you are done, take the photo album home with you.

1. Take exit 7 from Gion Shijo Station on the Keihan Main Line and proceed along Shijo Dori towards Yasaka Shrine.
2. At the intersection in front of Yasaka Shrine, cross to the Gion police box and cross the pedestrian in front of Tsuruha Drugstore towards Yasaka Shrine.
3. Turn right in front of Yasaka Shrine and proceed for 100 meters. Turn left at the Hotel Sunline and proceed another 100 meters.
4. Turn right in front of Cafe Jouvencelle and proceed for about 35 meters. Turn left on the road between the Japanese confectionery store and Ryotei Hamasaku.
