Activity
Panoramic view of Otaru city from the summit!
A snow trekking tour to climb Mt. Tengu, the symbol of Otaru, wearing snowshoes. The trailhead starts on the side of the ski slopes. Though the distance to the summit is short, the climb is strenuous. Perfect for those who are not satisfied with flat terrains and want an active snow trekking experience. At the summit, you will be rewarded with a spectacular panoramic view of Otaru City.
Small group tours with full support
The tours are small (maximum of 5 people) with full support, so even first-time snowshoers are welcome.
Professional guides certified by the Japan Mountain Guides Association provide support/lectures.
Schedule
Meeting / Reception
Please present the My Page reservation screen at the reception.
Transfer to the trailhead→Prepare to enter the mountain
After registration at the meeting place, transfer by guided vehicle to the trailhead (60 mins), followed by a short lecture before the hike.
Begin snowshoeing
We will walk along the trail next to the ski slopes with a break in between. (180 mins)
The summit offers a panoramic view of Otaru City.Start descending
On the way back, we will descend the same way we came. (60 mins)
End of tour
After descending, you will be transported to Sapporo Station. （60 mins)

- Please wear comfortable clothing. Rental clothing will keep you warm enough to participate in the tour. However, please bring warm clothing if you have any.
