A Kyoto landmark in a superb location in front of JR Kyoto Station
Standing in front of Kyoto Station, Kyoto Tower is a symbol of Kyoto. Kyoto Tower is slender and white, said to be inspired by a lighthouse. Since its opening in 1964, it has welcomed locals and tourists alike.

In addition to historical buildings such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple and To-ji Temple, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding natural mountains, including famous peaks such as Mt. Hiei.

The Tawawa-chan Shrine is on the 5th floor of the observation deck. "Tawawa-chan" is the mascot character of Kyoto Tower. This shrine is said to be the highest shrine in Kyoto.

Kyoto Tower is a complex tower, and the observation deck offers a free telescope to view famous sightseeing spots such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple, as well as a touchscreen multilingual audio guide.
A bar 45 meters above the ground offers a different view of Kyoto, where you can enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of coffee.
There is also a variety of facilities, including a large public bath, a Japanese restaurant, and shops.
You can spend a relaxing day here. You may even get to meet the Kyoto Tower's mascot, Tawawa-chan.
