Opened in April 2001, the "Osaka Museum of Housing and Living" was the first museum in Japan to specialize in daily life and urban development, with a focus on housing.
Visitors can enjoy a full-scale reproduction of the streets of Osaka during the Edo period, as well as the housing and lifestyle of modern Osaka through models and documents.
Visitors can discover the charm of Osaka's towns and the local lifestyle by experiencing the historical townscape and interactign with the detailed exhibits.
[Precautions]
- The QR code sent to you after your reservation is valid for 90 days from the date of the reservation (i.e.: order date).
- Unlimited access on the day of the event.
- An additional 300 JPY will be charged if you wish to see the special exhibition.
- Large luggage, umbrellas, selfie sticks, and food and drinks are not allowed. (Coin lockers and vending machines are available.)
- Rental audio guides are available. Japanese-language narrations in the permanent exhibition rooms are provided by rakugo storyteller Yonemasa Katsura.
Please apply at the entrance gate on the day of the event. Rental fee: 100 JPY
