Activity
Aerial walk for about 4 minutes with spectacular views!
It takes about 4 minutes from the foot of Mount Hachiman to the top of the mountain. Not only can visitors enjoy the rich natural beauty of Omi Hachiman, but they can also see the historic scenery of the old castle town.
The mountain's summit offers a tranquil vista.
From the top of Mt. Hachiman, visitors can enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Biwa, Lake Nishi, the ruins of Azuchi Castle, and the former castle town of Omi-Hachiman.
Travel back in time to the Warring States Period
Hachimanyama Castle was built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi. It is estimated to have been a large fortress with the Honmaru located at the top of Mt. Hachiman. Today, only stone walls remain, but visitors can feel the history of the castle from the ruins of the Murakumo Palace Zuiryu Temple Gate and other structures at the site of the Honmaru.

A text message (containing a QR code and e-ticket download link) will be sent to your registered email address after your reservation is completed.
Please present your QR code voucher at the ticket counter at the foot of the mountain to exchange it for a ticket before boarding the ropeway.

Hachimanyama Ropeway is a facility that enables tourists to enjoy an aerial view of Mt. Hachiman and the Omi-Hachiman area from the sky, full of natural and historical features. It takes about 4 minutes to get from the foot of Mt. Hachiman to the summit. The ropeway offers a range of attractions, such as the four seasons' beauty, the history felt in the ruins of Hachimanyama Castle built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and seasonal activities.
[Precautions]
・Free of charge for children age 5 years old and younger.
・Round-trip tickets are valid only on the day of exchange.
・Please note that the service may be temporarily suspended due to strong winds or inclement weather.
・The ropeway is wheelchair accessible, but the boarding area and the summit of the mountain are not barrier-free, so please be accompanied by a caregiver when boarding the ropeway.
After exiting the summit station, there are stairs and slopes that may be difficult to navigate with a wheelchair. Wheelchairs can be checked in at either the foot station or the summit station, so please feel free to ask a staff member for assistance.
・No animals are allowed on the ropeway. However, guide dogs, hearing dogs, and service dogs are allowed.
・Strollers can be folded up to ride on the ropeway. Please note that there are stairs and slopes at the top of Mt. Hachiman.
Strollers can be left at either the foot station or the summit station, so please feel free to ask a staff member for assistance.
