Let's go and meet the sea creatures of Kagoshima!
Visitors can enjoy 30,000 marine creatures of about 500 species living in the sea around Kagoshima in a variety of tanks.
The largest tank in the museum, the stunning Kuroshio (Black Current) Sea!
Here, whale sharks, skipjack, tuna, and other fish that migrate within the currents of the Kuroshio Current, create a captivating exhibit as they swim, showcasing their strength and grace.
Immerse yourself in an extraordinary underwater world as though you've dived into the depths of the sea!
At Kagoshima no Shinkai, you can meet creatures that live in the deep sea of Kagoshima. It is a very mysterious space.
Enjoy learning through a wide variety of events and hands-on classes!
In addition to daily events such as "Dolphin Hour" or "Seal Hour," there are also numerous hands-on lectures and limited-time-only events.

By scanning the QR codes scattered throughout the museum, visitors can view explanations and interesting videos of the creatures that can only be seen there (4 languages available: Japanese, English, Chinese (simplified/traditional), and Korean)

Directions to Nearest Station：(1) Take the tram bound for Kagoshima Ekimae, 10 minutes, then get off at the Aquarium Exit and walk 8 minutes (2) Take the city bus bound for Kagoshima Suizokukan-mae from the East 5 or East 6 platform at the East Exit of the station (10 minutes), then get off at the Kagoshima Suizokukan-mae stop, a 3-minute walk from the bus stop

Notes
- Wheelchairs and strollers are available for rent free of charge (20 wheelchairs and 13 strollers)
Please note that reservations are not accepted. Wheelchairs and strollers will be loaned out on the day of the event in order of admission.
Strollers are available for children ages 2 and under only.
- Eating and drinking are not permitted in the building; please use the restaurant on the 2nd floor for meals.
- Smoking is not permitted inside the building. If you wish to smoke, please use the smoking area located outside the building.
- Pets are not allowed in the facility (Guide dogs, service dogs, and hearing dogs are allowed. Please inquire for details)
- Cameras and videos are allowed inside the aquarium, but please refrain from using flash photography in the Kuroshio Sea (2nd floor of the Main Building), the Saw Shark Tank (4th floor of the Main Building), and the Seal Tank (1st floor of the Main Building).
- Visitors may re-enter the museum on the same day. Please show your ticket stub to the staff if you wish to re-enter.

- Building Hours: 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM (last admission at 5:00 PM)
*"Night Aquarium" days are held during Golden Week, weekends, and national holidays during the summer vacation period, Obon Holidays, and the aquarium is open until 9:00 PM.
- Closed: 4 days starting on the first Monday of December
*Open as usual during the New Year's holiday period
