[Chikubu Island]
Chikubu Island, a sacred place in Lake Biwa where the gods are said to reside, is a small island made entirely of granite monoliths and surrounded by sheer cliffs.
There are no houses on the island. It is still called "the island of mystery and romance" and is also popular as a super-powerful power spot. Visitors can enjoy Japanese history and beautiful architecture such as Hogonji Temple, which enshrines "Daibensaiten," one of Japan's three great Benzaiten, Tsukubusuma Shrine (Chikubushima Shrine), and Karamon and Kannondo, designated as national treasures and important cultural properties.
*There is a separate fee to visit Chikubu Island (13 years old and older/JPY 600, 6-12 years old/JPY 300, 5 years old and younger/No charge)
Please pay in cash at the ticket office located 50 meters from Chikubu Island Port.

[Embarkation]
- Please arrive at each port 20 minutes prior to departure time to check-in. After check-in, you may use the waiting room.
- Please gather in front of the boarding gate at least 10 minutes before departure.

[Schedule]
- Please check the official website for the operation status.
In case of bad weather conditions such as typhoons, strong winds, or poor visibility, the service may be canceled. (Service is suspended when a storm warning is in effect.)
However, please understand that we may make a last-minute decision for safety reasons depending on sudden weather changes on the day of the tour.
- If the landing time (90 minutes) at Chikubu Island is too short, it is possible to transfer to the next ferry.
If you wish to transfer to the next ferry, please consult with the ticket counter at each port on the day of your visit.
(The estimated time required to stay on Chikubu Island is approximately 60 to 80 minutes, as it is a small island.)

[Information]
- One child under 6 years old per adult can be free of charge.
*If there are two infants (children under 6 years old), one child fee will be charged.
Complimentary infants will have to be held on the lap. If you need a seat, please purchase a ticket for a child (6-12 years old).
- Luggage can be stored for a fee (JPY 200). Please apply at the counter.
- The ship is not wheelchair accessible and passengers must get out of their wheelchairs once to board the ship.
- Free Wi-Fi is available on board.
- Seating on board is unreserved. However, if a group reservation is made in advance, some seats may be changed to reserved seats.
- Pets are not allowed on board. Guide dogs or care dogs are allowed.
- Smoking is not permitted on the ship or in the waiting room at Nagahama Port. Please use the smoking area on Chikubu Island and the outdoor smoking area at Nagahama Port.
- We ask for your cooperation in keeping eating and drinking on board to a minimum. There are two rest areas and souvenir shops on Chikubu Island. Please use them as well.
