Activity
It is an art deco-style train that is red with gold and black patterns, a train unique to sightseeing trains.
The sightseeing train adjacent to the JR Saga-Arashiyama Station runs from Saga Station to Kameoka Station, a distance of 7.3 km (one-way), at a speed of about 25 minutes, which is about the speed of a slightly fast bicycle.
Almost the entire area along the Hozu River offers a beautiful view of the four seasons.
In the spring season, visitors can see 700 cherry blossom trees planted along the route, and in the fall, it is a popular foliage viewing spot where visitors can enjoy the autumn leaves illuminated with lights.
JR Saga-Arashiyama Station is also home to Diorama Kyoto JAPAN, one of the largest miniature railroad in Japan.
The miniature train runs through the finely crafted historical sites and cityscapes of Kyoto.

On the day of the event, please open the URL of the e-ticket attached to the e-mail, check the details of the e-ticket, click the "Confirm" button so the screen displays your seat number, and present this screen (electronic voucher) to the station staff. Once on board the train, please sit in the seat indicated on your e-ticket. *In the absence of a station attendant, please go directly to your assigned train seat. *You may be denied boarding if you fail to present your ticket. There is no need to redeem your ticket at the ticket counter. Please open the link on your e-ticket and present it to the station staff when boarding the train.
You may be denied boarding if you fail to present your ticket. In such cases, no refunds will be made.
All passengers with reservations must present the ticket screen (electronic voucher) with their seat number for station staff to verify.
For every person 6 years and older, admission is free for one child 1-5 years old.
However, if a child aged 1-5 occupies a seat, a child fare is required.
Please note that seat assignments cannot be made in advance.
In case of rain, the ride will not be canceled, except in the case of stormy weather. No refunds will be made for no-fee tickets except in the event of inclement weather.
Strollers may be folded for the ride, but bicycles and folding bicycles are not allowed.
No parking is available at Torokko Saga Station. Please use public transportation.
Please refrain from eating and drinking on the trolley train except to prevent heat stroke.
In addition to conductor-guided tours, Sagano Scenic Railway will launch a multilingual audio guide service in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean, especially for international visitors to enjoy more than ever.
By downloading the free app to your own smartphone, the guide will play in accordance to the train's positioning/location, and you can listen to it at your leisure before or after your trip. Enjoy the beautiful scenery from the train as well as the commentary from the guide.
