Experience traditional kimono in a modern, stylish way.

Cool to cute designs are available. Children's Kimono/Yukata: Suitable for children 85cm to 130cm tall.

Kimono professionals will provide you with attentive service

Experienced local kimono stylists will assist you in dressing. You can freely choose a kimono based on your preferences.

Includes simple hair arrangement (For girls only)

Our dedicated staff will create a hairstyle that suits your preferences and kimono (yukata). We also offer authentic hair styling (payment on site, starting from JPY 1650).


Schedule

  • Reservation completed

    A text message (containing a QR code and a downloadable e-ticket link) will be sent to your registered email address after the reservation is completed.

  • Reception

    Please present the QR code voucher at the Okimono-ya Kiyomizu-dera store when you use the service on the day.

  • Select kimono ⇒ Dressing, Hair arrangement

    You can select a kimono with the assistance of a kimono dresser or a dedicated kimono advisor. We will ensure that the kimono is secure to prevent discomfort and minimize the chances of it coming loose.

  • Stroll around

    Please enjoy the townscape while wearing a slightly different attire than usual. If you'd like, the staff at each store can suggest places for a stroll.

  • Return the kimono

    Please return to the store by 5:00 PM on the day.

Things guests need to prepare on the day of the activity (clothes, belongings, etc.)

If you have any favorite shoes that you'd like to pair with your kimono, feel free to bring them along.

Comfortable shoes: Some children do not like to wear zori sandals, so we recommend that you bring a pair of shoes that they are used to wearing.

Winter: Cold weather gear such as innerwear, tights, arm warmers, etc.

[Participation Restrictions]
• When wearing kimonos, we may have to tighten the area around the stomach. Please inform us if you are not feeling well or have any concerns. Additionally, there may be situations where we decline to provide dressing services depending on the circumstances. We appreciate your understanding.
• Children's kimonos and yukatas are available for those 85-130cm tall.
• Please return the kimono by 5:00 PM on the same day.

[Important information prior to and during participation]
• Please arrive at the meeting place 5 minutes before your appointment time. The reception desk will open at the time of your appointment, but even if you are late, your experience will start on time.
It takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours from reception to completing the dressing and heading out for the stroll. Please note that you may be requested to wait depending on how busy the store is on that day.
• Each guest is allowed to check in one suitcase or one large bag.
Due to space constraints, we cannot accommodate any additional luggage or belongings of guests who are not renting items.

[What to wear and bring on the day]
• If you are not used to wearing zori sandals, you might get blisters. If you plan to walk a lot, we recommend that you bring a comfortable shoes.
• The area around the neck (back) of the kimono remains open. If you choose to wear something underneath, we suggest avoiding high-necked garments.
• Some might feel cold when wearing a kimono in winter. We recommend that you wear innerwear, arm warmers or put a scarf around the neck to keep you warm.

We offer next-day returns (morning). Please inform the store staff on the day if you wish to utilize this service.
(If you are unable to return the kimono by 12:00 PM the following day, please notify the store staff in advance.)
• Kimono (yukata) Insurance: JPY 550/person
If you have insurance, you will not be charged for cleaning fees even if your kimono gets dirty. If you wish to use add insurance, please ask the store staff on the day.
*If stains, holes, scrapes, blood, tears, and other damage are found, insurance may not cover it.
• Hair arrangement: From JPY 1650/person
• If adding kimono accessories, lace and bags: JPY 550/item
