Limited to July 17! Ticket for paid spectator seats for the Gion Festival's Saki Matsuri (Early Festival), one of the most popular summer festivals in Kyoto

Visitors can enjoy the Gion Festival, a traditional event held at Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto for over 1,000 years, from the spectator seats.

The tickets may sell out quickly after the private sales begin, which are scheduled to start in early June! Secure your tickets ahead of time!

All seats reserved, all seats come with a pamphlet and a commemorative viewing ticket

Limited edition souvenirs are also included! *Seats cannot be chosen.

Schedule

  • Please arrive at the venue with your spectator seat ticket.

    We will send the tickets to your hotel in advance. After making a reservation, please present the confirmation screen we send you at the hotel to receive your tickets.

  • 10:00 AM: Present your ticket at the gate of the spectator area

    Gates differ depending on seat location (between Kyoto City Hall and Karasuma Oike Station). Please present your ticket to the staff at the designated gate indicated on your ticket.*A map of the venue in the language of your choice will be sent with your ticket.

  • 10:00 AM - 10:20 AM: Enter the viewing area and take your seat

    Please enter the viewing area and take your seat at the chair indicated by the seat number on your ticket.

  • 10:20 AM - 11:20 AM: Enjoy the Gion "Saki Matsuri" Festival.

    The procession moves to (Kawaramachi-Oike) at around 10:20 AM and then to (Shinmachi-Oike) at around 11:20 AM.

  • End

    After enjoying the show from the comfort of your seat, you can continue to enjoy the Japanese summer festivities at the Gion Festival. *Please refrain from using the seat for an extended period of time after the procession has passed.

[About Tickets]
• Regardless of age, please purchase a ticket for any child who requires a seat. (Infants who can be seated on the lap are free of charge)
• Tickets will be mailed to the hotel where you are staying at least 2 days prior to the event date.
After making a reservation, please present the confirmation screen we send you at the hotel front desk to receive your tickets.
• We recommend that you pick up your tickets the day before the event and arrive with plenty of time to spare, as the venue is expected to be crowded.
• For inquiries regarding ticket pick-up, please refer to the email we send you after making a reservation for the contact information.

[Notes]
• The floats procession (Yamahoko Junko) will be held rain or shine. After ticket purchase, no refunds will be given.
*In the event that the procession of the floats cannot be held due to a disaster such as a flood warning or an earthquake, refunds will be provided.
(Ticket issuance fees and delivery fees are non-refundable.)
• Since extreme heat is expected, please be sure to stay hydrated.
Please take precautions against the heat, such as bringing a hat.
• We recommend that you bring a raincoat in case of rain.
*Umbrellas (including parasols) may not be used as they block the view.
• Please note that restroom availability may be limited, so it's advisable to plan accordingly.
• Smoking is prohibited.
• Any individuals who engage in behavior that causes inconvenience to other customers or do not follow the instructions of the staff will be forcibly removed from the venue. There will be no refunds or ticket refunds in such cases.
• Please note that the organizers will not be held responsible for any damages that occur within the spectator seating area for reasons beyond their control.

[Regarding filming]
• The use of tripods within the spectator seating area is prohibited.
• Please do not disturb other spectators when taking photos or videos.

[Infection prevention measures]
• Please follow the guidelines set by the national and local authorities for infection prevention measures.
• Due to the impact of infectious diseases, there is a possibility of changes or cancellations.
• In order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, there is a possibility of adjusting the number of seats available for future sales.

[In case of cancellation]
• The event may be canceled after the reservation is made due to inclement weather or natural disasters. In such case, the operator will inform your emergency contact after 6:00 PM on the day before the event. Please be sure to check your e-mail and incoming calls.
